Bryan Stevenson: We need to talk about an injustice
Link
Bryan Stevenson shares some hard truths about America’s justice system, starting with a massive imbalance along racial lines: a third of the country’s black male population has been incarcerated at some point in their lives
What Mr. Stevenson describes as our identity and the source of respect is aspirational. If technology and design weren’t enough to earn respect Steve Jobs and Apple wouldn’t be lionized while their products were made under the widely reported conditions at Foxconn. If the arc of the universe bends towards justice it’s only because people like Mr. Stevenson are dedicating their lives to counteract the forces that at best are agnostic about justice but otherwise induce injustice.
