A feel-good idea to be sure… A tad quixotic when the media drumbeat and the consequent conventional groupwisdom incessantly reinforce that our very livelihoods – otherwise known as “the economy” – depend on our willingness, regardless of our ability, to buy, buy, buy.<\/p>\n

There is of course the usual kernel of truth in that wisdom, but that truth exists in a delicately balanced ecosystem, if you will, with many other truths the voices of which the drumbeat drowns out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
