Much of this is not new. The associations w/ right-wing Hindu nationalists like LK Advani and Narendra Modi are icky Real Politik. However, what the piece does not mention is that Syedna is genuinely revered by the vast majority of Bohras and, despite all the crap, the dissatisfaction hasn’t been widespread.
